With ESPN College game day With a showdown between No. 1 Texas and No. 5 Georgia this Saturday in Austin, it only made sense to have the only athlete equally revered (and dominant) in both states as this week’s guest player to name: the No. 1 golfer Scottie Scheffler.
The two-time Masters champion is from Dallas and visited Texas.
But before he could decide between the Longhorns and the Bulldogs, the conversation turned to the Louisville-Miami game. And if anyone thought there was a chance Scheffler would support the Cardinals, they clearly would have forgotten what happened the last time the golf star traveled to Louisville.
He was arrested while attempting to compete in the 2024 PGA Championship.
Without batting an eyelid, Scheffler quickly endorsed the Hurricanes, emphasizing that he didn’t even have to watch film to make that choice.
