PREVIEW | Tour of Guangxi 2024, Stage 6 – Can Ethan Vernon win the third stage on the final day of the race?

The Tour of Guangxi will be the final World Tour event of the season; takes place from October 15th to 20th. The peloton will be in China for the final stage race of the season, but this will still be important for many. We’re previewing Level 6.

The last day of the race is already known and will take place in the city of Nanning. This is an interesting day of racing, on paper it appears to be a normal day for the sprinters, but the profile doesn’t quite show how steep the climb is.

Five laps of a circuit on a short race day, just 133 kilometers. Each lap involves a steep, 1.4 kilometer climb with an average gradient of over 11%. It’s possible to do serious damage here, and there are still 12 miles to go. The GC riders will be on their toes and it’s hard to say whether this will end in a reduced bunch sprint, a GC day or anything in between.
