KYPRIOS is back for revenge this time after losing to Trawlerman in 2023. He’s in great shape and always looks like he still has a little more to give. He’s the favorite and he should be. Al Nayyir seems to be the only threat if he plays very late.
BUCANERO FUERTE (there and back) was quietly gaining ground after a long break in Haydock and was riding far too fast in the early stages to have any chance of finishing his race. He then ran very well over 5f on home soil but that proved too sharp. He has already achieved some form in his youth at this particular venue and he picked the ideal part of the track to get some cover early on at the speed recorded in pits 12 and 13.
KALPANA has long looked like it was destined for the top of the table, and this season has seen a rapid rise through the ranks from 78 to 113 – it doesn’t look like it’s going to stop there! The only reason it isn’t more present in the market is because the soil is a little unknown. If she can do that, we could have a champion on our hands
FACTEUR CHEVAL comes here fresher than most in the lineup and also ran on less than ideal ground conditions. Last year he was a distant second. When he was behind the favorite at the Royal meeting, he was completely on the wrong side of the track. Now he can let the clock keep going and produce late.
ECONOMICS could possibly be the best three-year-old we’ve ever seen. Let’s hope all the signs are right because he brings a fantastic profile, even though he’s had a long stretch in Ireland and despite his inexperience he still manages to pull it off. Nashwa could secure a place despite great odds.
I’m not sure what kept LATTAM off the track for 114 days, but at least he has a very good profile. The only problem is getting a clear passage as he is such a long racehorse that any interruption to his momentum can be very costly. Ryan Sexton just needs a flawless long run through the final quarter mile to land this huge pot.
