Adam Azim vs Ohara Davies
This is your main event of the evening.
It’s a big step up for Azim, but he’s enjoying the challenge that lies ahead.
Azim said: “I can’t wait to get back in the ring and get back to doing what I do best,” Azim said. “It was a great honor to win and defend the European title, but now I’m ready for my next challenge.”
“I have known Ohara Davies for many years. I respect him and what he has achieved in this sport, but when we meet in the ring he is just another opponent and another step on my path to the top.”
“He is a good fighter. I think our style will make for an exciting fight, but there will only be one outcome. I’m ready to make a statement and show everyone that I’m ready for the biggest names in the division.”
McKinson on today’s fight
“I seized the opportunity. This morning I got in my car early and drove four and a half hours here,” he said.
“I’m up here alone this week. As I said, I am experienced and have been playing the game for a long time to know what I need and what is good for me.
“When I got the opportunity to come here this week, I talked to my dad, who takes care of me and trains me, and he said, ‘Do it. Go up there.’
“I was very frustrated. It’s been a really slow year of being promised things and stuff, but I kind of had to take the positives in everything and not be so negative about things. Every time I’ve had a setback this year, I’ve just taken the positive.
“Good things come to those who wait.”
