SIMIYANN emerged an impressive winner over a mile and three quarters at this distance two starts ago, confirming his earlier promise to open his account late, and he reached a similar level in defeat at Chelmsford last time out. He broke away from the rest with the winner that day and seemed to have found a good opportunity here, two miles back. Daaris is the most feared of Trojan Truth.

SHOW BIZ KID showed fairly serviceable form for Richard Hannon and his third place in a handicap at Nottingham in June worked out well, with both the winner and runner-up winning next time out. He has now been picked up by new contacts for 10,000 guineas, and he makes an interesting impression both in the beginner’s company and on the trip. Corundum, receding into the distance, is the obvious danger.

HITCHED and Harbor Vision won both divisions last year and are once again of great interest. However, it is the former that holds the most appeal, having shown better form than mere results at Lingfield last time out. He had to travel a long way that day and returning to this venue and over this distance will be expected to give his best, whilst also weighing 1lb less than he did 12 months ago. We’renotreallyhere and Outrace are also there.

All three of TWILIGHT DANCER’s wins have come on turf, but she is equally effective in all weather conditions and she appears particularly handicapped as she is now 2.7kg below her last winning mark. She wasn’t at her best last time, but her endurance up to a mile isn’t impressive yet and she should be much happier on this trip. She wants to get back to winning ways, especially at the expense of Ruth Carr’s in-form veteran Reputation, although Souffionne, Monsieur Patat and Evocative Spark all have to take this open handicap into account.

ROSENZOO has a good record at this track, scoring 2 pounds less over the course and distance in July and finishing second in his last two starts, also at this venue. He was caught on the last legs last time and the climb in the trip should suit him, so he has the right to make another bold attempt. Roger Varian’s Warren Ways was better than his result last time out at Windsor and is second choice, ahead of newcomer Monsieur Fudge, who has no handicap.

CHARLIE’S CHOICE opened its account for this route and distance at the start of the year and followed up three weeks later at Kempton. Since then he has maintained his form well and probably should have finished better last time at Chelmsford, so he will continue to be of interest when a professional jockey is on board again. Visibility’s recent record is hard to beat and it’s second choice to Salamanca Lad.

BOMB SQAUD is a previous course and distance winner who generally does well in all weather conditions. He looked in desperate need of the run when he returned from an 11-month break on heavy ground at Leicester 11 days ago and is expected to be much fitter now. Bomb Squad has again reached its last winning mark and has given preference to Saffredi, who has had a good start for his new boss and could prove to be the main threat, ahead of course specialist Arlecchino’s Gift and the in-form Vape.

PAPA DON’T PREACH won in good style at Chelmsford earlier this month and backed up that performance with a solid third place at Southwell just two days ago. He is worth a chance to get back to winning ways in a thin race despite the quick turnaround. “Spanish Angel” and “Street Life” could prove to be the biggest threats.

SEA OF CHARM has a solid record on this track, winning over the course and distance two starts ago. Although he fell behind Renoir last time out, this rival was much better positioned and he will be hoping to reverse the form. Pysanka arrives in good condition and should give it its all once again.
