Pat Cash makes bold claims about Carlos Alcaraz as he says he may already be better than Roger Federer

Carlos Alcaraz has had such an impact on men’s tennis that Pat Cash made a very bold claim.

In just two years, the 21-year-old has achieved more than players have achieved in their entire careers.

Since 2022, the Spaniard has won four Grand Slam titles, reached the top spot in the world rankings and won an Olympic silver medal.

He brings flair, passion and excitement to the game and his electrifying shots have amazed many fans.

But Alcaraz has impressed not only the fans but also many former players, such as Cash, who compared the youngster to Roger Federer to a great extent.

How does Pat Cash think that Carlos Alcaraz may already be better than Roger Federer?

Carlos Alcaraz has certainly made a great impression on the ATP Tour in such a short space of time.

It can be argued that his greatest achievement to date is winning back-to-back Wimbledon titles and defeating Novak Djokovic in the final both times.

Alcaraz certainly surprised everyone with how quickly he adapted his game to success on grass, and he has a combination of deadly groundstrokes and deft touch around the net for the low bouncing surface.

Cash, who won the Wimbledon title in 1987, was so impressed by what Alcaraz did on grass that he placed him alongside Federer, considered by many to be tennis’s greatest grass court player.

“He has no weakness. “I almost think he’s the best player I’ve ever seen at his best on grass,” said the Australian on Sky Sports.

“Roger Federer too. Let’s face it, he took the best from Rafa and Federer and was able to adapt it. Without these other great players we wouldn’t have this.

“He took the best of everything and somehow put it all together at the age of 21. I’ve never seen anything like it.”

Carlos Alcaraz is constantly compared to Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal

Because of his playing style and mindset, Alcaraz has been constantly compared to Federer, Djokovic and Paris Olympics doubles partner Rafael Nadal.

While covering the Six Kings Slam on Sky Sports, British tennis player Liam Broady outlined how he has implemented aspects of Federer and Nadal’s matches into his own.

“I understand what you’re saying. “He has the sheer power of Rafa, but he has the lightness in his game and the aura that Fed had,” Broady said. “He’s like a ballet dancer but with the ability to move like only Rafa could.

“He has the strength that Rafa had on a clay court to play way back on the court, but he can also play on the court in the same way Roger used to with the SABR.”

“He is one of the few players in this sport who can take your breath away with his shots.”
