Scottie Scheffler is ready to follow Tiger Woods’ lead with an unlikely piece of Masters history

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

That seems to be the motto of the world’s leading golfer.

Scottie Scheffler was on GOLF’s “Subpar” podcast and hinted at what he might serve at his second Masters’ Champions Dinner in three years in April.

Anyone attending his final dinner of 2023 should be familiar with the menu.

“I wonder if I should just have the exact same menu,” Scheffler said.

“It was pretty good; They are all my favorite foods. I don’t really know what I could do differently. I think it would be kind of fun to just have the exact same food.”

The exact same food would be Scottie-style cheeseburger sliders, firecracker shrimp, tortilla soup, Texas ribeye steak or blackened red snapper, and a warm chocolate chip cookie and ice cream.

Exquisite food.

If Scheffler were to repeat the exact same menu, he would be following in the footsteps of just one other person who repeated their menu.

Traces that happen to belong to the greatest golfer of modern times and probably of all time.

Tiger Woods.

The man who won the Masters five times.

Woods revisited his 2002 menu and served the same dinner in 2003, which consisted of porterhouse steak, chicken and sushi.

Scheffler and his “Scottie Style” cheeseburgers would be up in the air if he repeated the menu.

It would be appropriate for Scheffler to do something only Woods has ever done, given the absolute tears Scheffler went through.

His game and his complete dominance are reminiscent of a first-class Woods.

Scheffler won the 2022 Masters, his first major victory, and won it again this year, having now won the famous tournament twice in three years.

He also became the first player to successfully defend his PLAYERS Championship title and won a total of seven PGA TOUR titles, including four signature events.

Not too shabby.

Add to that an Olympic gold medal from Paris and winning the FedExCup for the first time – you have everything you need to be the best player in the world.

And right now it’s not nearly that far.

Scheffler is currently playing the best golf of his career and will look to maintain that momentum next year.

And for those who will be at the Champions Dinner, “Scottie Style” cheeseburgers are back on the menu.
