As one of the most active social media teams in the entire peloton, TDT-Unibet could be one step closer to its dream of appearing at the Tour de France in the coming years after successfully changing the team’s nationality from Dutch to French, new sponsorship and associated name changes.
“After two very successful years for the TDT-Unibet ProTeam, the UCI ProTeam will continue as Unibet Tietema Rockets,” the PRT-level team enthusiastically announces in a press release on its official website. “With Unibet acting as the team’s first naming partner under a new multi-year agreement with the team, the Unibet Tietema Rockets become the first team in professional cycling to have a franchise name. This development represents a big step in the history of the team.” Ambitions towards its first participation in the Tour de France.
As with most teams, TDT-Unibet influencer owner Bas Tietema’s big dream is to achieve a Tour de France wildcard. “To achieve this, we need to develop the level of our drivers, attract more global partners and tell our story in the best possible way,” says team owner Tietema. “Our goal is to be the best team for cycling fans around the world to follow. “With the new Rockets identity, we are taking a big step forward in creating a sustainable organization and hopefully accelerating our growth as a team.”
“Every cycling team starts with a dream, the Tour de France,” says the 29-year-old Dutchman, who has both ridden in the team’s jersey and served as sports director on several occasions since the team was founded in 2023, concludes. “We have been working towards this dream for a long time and have probably already exceeded the expectations of many. “We are very proud of our development so far and are now taking a big step towards making these dreams come true.”
